What Lifeguards Do
Our lifeguards are responsible for keeping beachgoers safe and educating the public about ocean safety.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring swimmers and beach conditions
- Responding to rescues and emergencies
- Providing first aid when needed
- Educating visitors about ocean safety
- Maintaining a safe beach environment
- Completing basic incident reports
Minimum Requirements
We’re looking for motivated individuals who enjoy the ocean and working as part of a team.
Basic Requirements
- Must be 16 years or older
- Run 1 mile in under 8 minutes
- Swim 500 meters in under 10 minutes
No previous lifeguard experience is required.
All guards complete professional training after being hired.
Training Provided
All selected applicants will complete professional lifeguard and medical training including:
- USLA Open Water Lifeguard Training
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Certification
- CPR / First Aid Certification
- Ocean rescue and emergency response training
This training prepares our guards to respond confidently in real emergencies.

Yes.
We have several opportunities available including staff housing. If housing is something you require reach out ASAP.
What are the requirements to be a lifeguard?
To qualify as a lifeguard, candidates must meet the following physical standards:
Swim 500 meters in 10 minutes or less
Run 1 mile in 8 minutes or less
Any additional certifications or qualifications required for the role will be provided during training camp.
Relevant experience is valued, including prior lifeguarding, EMT/AEMT/Paramedic certification, first responder training, military service, or other medical or public safety backgrounds and may may qualify for an increased hourly rate.
What is the pay?
The starting pay rate is $20.50 per hour, with additional compensation opportunities based on tenure and relevant qualifications.
